With its striking yellow and black markings and powerful wingspan, it moves through the bush with both strength and grace, a quiet predator woven into the rhythms of our wetlands and forests.

In this piece, the giant dragonfly is paired with climbing native rātā vine, a plant known for slowly creeping upward through the canopy before bursting into vivid red bloom.

This drawing was inspired by an incredibly special moment for Katy when she was out with her family checking possum traps.
