Carved Stone - Tuakiri

Touchstone - Tuakiri. This natural New Zealand river stone features a carved design inspired by Moko kauae. It merges modern techniques with classic M?ori aesthetics, resulting in a piece that is both contemporary and nostalgic, exuding authenticity and cultural significance.

Moko kauae is not just a traditional chin tattoo worn by M?ori women; it holds profound cultural, spiritual, and personal significance. It represents whakapapa (genealogy), ancestral ties, rank, and individual accomplishments. The word "Tuakiri" in M?ori translates to "identity."

Proudly made in Aotearoa, NZ.
